For our 26th episode of the Women in Dentistry podcast, we have Ms. Donna Armstrong.

Donna started her career in 1992, in the meeting and events industry after receiving her BBA from Northwood University. She worked full time as an event producer while also pursuing her Biology degree from the University of Georgia. An opportunity arose for her to start an event production company in Atlanta which resulted in successful operations for 14 years. Client vision and experience satisfaction, as well as navigating relationships between providers and end-users are 2 strong skill sets that the industry naturally develops along with traditional business skills. Donna’s company received local, national, and international awards.

After selling her business and taking a few years off while her son was young, she reentered the industry as a Director of meetings and events for a museum in Atlanta until she met her current partners of Promethean Dental Systems in early 2019. She was instantly intrigued by the concept brought forth. The dental educators demonstrated technology and dental education integration that was unmatched in their minds and a generational transformation in learning. Their challenge was introducing this new tech to supplement and complement existing educational standards. Promethean Dental Systems Educational Center was created to fill this role.

Donna has been leading the design and operation of business services her entire career. She has been focused on providing services that balance operational efficiency and world-class customer experience. Donna uses her detailed orientation for results to ensure all dental simulation educational courses are properly tested and delivered at all educational centers with a passion for her customers. Donna has been hands-on with PDS customers since the inception of our first simulation center.

For our 25th episode of the Women in Dentistry podcast, we have Dr. Mona Patel. Mona Patel practices in Abington, Pennsylvania. Her commitment to excellence started at entering the University of Birmingham Queen Elisabeth Dental School at the age of 17 and obtained her Bachelor of Dental Surgery at the age of 21.

Dr. Patel offers advanced tooth replacement with dental implants, full mouth rehabilitation, and more. All of this is presented in a way that combines technology and technique to support overall health and wellness.

She is a co-founder of Dynamic Dental Divas, an all-women study group. This women's dental study group is designed to help female dentists advance and develop their knowledge and techniques. Dr. Patel started this group with a focus on health, wellness, and comprehensive dentistry.

Dr. Patel is a member of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, American Dental Association, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, Academy of General Dentistry, Montgomery/Bucks Dental Society, Straumann ITI Implant Forum, Pennsylvania Dental Association, Suburban Study Club and co-founder of Dynamic Dental Divas, where she nurtures young female dentist on growing professionally and personally.

Sam became a dental practice manager in her 20’s, developing administrative strategies to grow both the practice and the people within it.

Sam co-founded Compass Dental Practice Solutions, offering dental professionals the same support, knowledge and strategies that founded her own success. In addition to Compass, Sam serves as Chief Operations Officer for a small dental group, where she works daily ​in ​the practices. This enables her to continue to develop the administrative and clinical systems and solutions that are being utilized in hundreds of practices across the country. She understands that working in the practice provides invaluable experience and insight into dental teams' daily challenges today.

She’s known as an influencer and leader of thought in the area of intentional communication, practice financials and metrics, scheduling, systems and protocols, practice operations, treatment presentation and team development. She is also the CEO and founder of the WOW Readiness program, a career readiness program that provides resources and job placement for underserved women. Dr. Karen was a family dentist before moving into Orthodontics for 12 years. She is originally from the UK and relocated with her family to the United States in 2016. She now lives in Bentonville, Northwest Arkansas.

Welcome to season 2!

For our 19th episode of the Women in Dentistry podcast, we have Bethany Piziks. Her journey began in a “lightning strike” moment when she was 13 and came home from school to find that her parents had sold her beloved horses (they couldn’t afford to keep them). She was devastated and decided she’d never again lose something she loved because of money. So she became a dentist…thinking it would be an easy way to make lots of money. Instead, what she experienced for over 20 years of practice (even though she was very successful on the outside) was enormous stress and anxiety, sleepless nights, and the slow, steady breakdown of her physical and emotional health. As she worked through her own healing, her passion shifted from restoring teeth to restoring hearts and spirits and helping others who were struggling the way she did.
In 2015 she sold her practice, completed a 2-year Certification program called Touched By A Horse to become an Equine Gestalt Coach, and BraveHeart Serenity Coaching was born! She now partners with horses to provide impactful coaching experiences, helping her clients get unstuck from old patterns, stress, anxiety, and fear, and attain serenity.
In 2020 she joined Solace LifeSciences (the makers of NuCalm) as a strategic partner, and she is excited to combine the power of neuroscience technology with Equine Gestalt methodology. This is an exponentially effective system of bringing long-lasting serenity and well-being to those who seek it!
